A made-to-order salad and catering app
A clean ordering flow for customers and an admin dashboard that runs the day to day, with a matching logo to finish it.
The challenge
The business needed a way to take made-to-order salad and catering orders online, with real control over what is available, when orders close, and which days are blacked out, without handing a slice of every order to a generic platform.
What we built
We built a custom ordering app where customers browse the menu and place orders, and the owner runs everything from an admin dashboard: editing the menu and pricing, setting order cutoff times, adding protein and dressing options, and blocking out dates. We designed their logo to match.
How we approached it
The app had to fit how the kitchen really works, so we mapped the ordering and kitchen workflow with the owner first and built the customer flow and the controls outward from there.
Map the workflow
We mapped the ordering and kitchen workflow with the owner to understand how orders really come in.
Design the flows
We designed the customer ordering flow and the admin dashboard side by side.
Build the controls
We built the app with menu, pricing, and scheduling controls the owner manages directly.
Add the guardrails
We added order cutoffs, blackout dates, and add-on options for proteins and dressings.
Design the brand
We designed the brand logo to match the app and tie the whole thing together.
Test & launch
We tested real orders end to end before launch to make sure the day to day held up.
The result
Customers now order online instead of by phone and text, and the owner controls the menu, pricing, and schedule directly. Order cutoffs and blackout dates keep the kitchen from getting overloaded, and it is a custom app they own rather than a rented template.

Technologies & skills
A modern, lightweight stack chosen to fit a small food business: a custom app the owner can run alone, a reliable backend, and a brand that matches.
React
The ordering app is built in React, with a customer flow designed around how orders really come in.
Firebase
Firebase handles the backend so the business gets a reliable, low-maintenance foundation with no server to babysit.
Admin dashboard
The owner edits the menu and pricing, sets cutoffs, adds options, and blocks out dates, all from one place.
Logo design
We designed a matching brand logo so the app and the brand feel like one finished thing.
